GDI’s Janet Mancini Billson and Martin Steinmeyer conducted a review of the annual report published by the United Nations Commission in Bangkok in 2005 (Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific). This evaluation afforded an opportunity to help the Survey better reflect the organization’s mandate, give voice more effectively to the producing division’s operational work, and become more useful to member states. Several recommendations were made in this regard. Currently, Dr. Billson is conducting a review of the two Surveys that have been published since the 2005 evaluation.
